New York City’s Public Health Council denied a proposal by 14 physicians for the development of a new orthopedic ambulatory surgical center in Manhattan, according to a report by the Healthcare Association of New York State.
The proposed center, SurgiCare of Manhattan, would have competed with two area hospitals, Lenox Hill Hospital and NYU Langone Medical Center, both of which have outpatient surgery centers in development.
The center was opposed by HANYS.
