New York hospital adopts new surgical system

Ithaca, N.Y.-based Cayuga Medical Center invested in a fourth-generation da Vinci Xi Surgical System, according to Ithaca Journal, part of the USA Today network.

The da Vinci Xi is designed to improve surgeons’ precision and visualization during various abdominal, gynecological and urological procedures.

General surgeon Gregory Ripich, MD, used the robotic system for years before joining CMC.

CMC is a 212-bed hospital with a medical staff of 200 affiliated physicians.
