New York City-based Hospital for Special Surgery honored surgeon-in-chief emeritus Todd Albert, MD; physiatrist-in-chief Joel Press, MD, and chair emeritus Kendrick Wilson, III, at a tribute dinner according to a June 3 news release.
Dr. Albert and Dr. Press earned Lifetime Achievement Awards for their work at HSS. Mr. Wilson received the Tribute Dinner Award for his achievements in business and community service.
Dr. Albert is a spine surgeon and has written more than 90 book chapters, edited 14 books and published more than 450 peer-reviewed articles. He is a Richard Rogers Professor to Advance Spine Care at HSS and a professor of orthopedic surgery at Weill Cornell Medical School in New York City.
Dr. Press is the Joel and Anne Ehrenkranz Chair in Physiatry at HSS and a professor at Weill Cornell Medical College. Before joining HSS he worked at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago and founded and led the Spine and Sports Rehabilitation Centers at the Institute.
Mr. Wilson served on HSS’ board of trustees from 2013 to 2022. He worked in the banking industry, during the 2008 financial crisis he worked as an adviser to former Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson. With HSS he oversaw a major expansion of locations and service lines.
