CVS’ pledge, along with its partnership with Rhode Island Gov. Gina Raimondo, will help fund the Opioid Center of Excellence in Woonsocket, where CVS is headquartered.
The opioid center will expand access to medication-assisted treatments for addicted individuals.
“The solution to this complex [opioid] problem will require a multi-pronged effort, involving a broad group of stakeholders in health care and beyond. At CVS Health, we have been proactively working with our communities to address this epidemic in a comprehensive way.” Larry Merlo, CVS Health’s president and CEO, told The Westerly Sun.
