The power outage occurred after 11 a.m. when water utility workers accidentally struck an underground electrical line, San Diego Gas and Electric spokesperson Allison Torres told the publication.

Hospital officials turned power back on within about two hours via its central energy plant, which powers the main facility.

“Patient care continued during the power shortage and the hospital was fully operational after the disruption,” they added.
