Massachusetts' Fallon Clinic Changes Name to Reliant Medical Group

For clarification purposes, Fallon Clinic, a medical group based in Worcester, Mass., has announced a change in name to Reliant Medical Group, according to a Worcester Telegram & Gazette report.

The new name will differentiate the medical group from Fallon Community Health Plan, an insurer. Fallon Clinic was once part of Fallon Healthcare System, comprised of the health plan and St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester. The system began to split in 1996, with the clinic and health plan finally cutting ties in 2004.

The clinic will introduce its new name and logo through a marketing campaign. It is changing its logo to reflect an affiliation with Newton, Mass.-based Atrius Health, an organization of medical providers who have teamed up to better negotiate contracts with insurers.
