The IRS will share tax return information with other agencies in order to help determine whether or not people are eligible for tax credits to buy health insurance on the new exchanges.

Republican lawmakers have objected to the IRS’ part in facilitating the exchanges. Earlier this month, Rep. Dave Camp (R-Mich.) — the House Ways and Means Committee chairman — said the IRS is in no position to implement the PPACA. Mr. Camp expressed concerns about the agency’s ability to prevent fraud and protect confidential taxpayer information.
