Indiana Health System and Hospital Complete Merger

Clarian Health, based in Indianapolis, and Bloomington (Ind.) Hospital have officially merged, effective Jan. 1, according to a report by the Indianapolis Star.

The Bloomington acquisition will bring the number of hospitals in the state under Clarian's ownership to 17, according to the report.

The merger has been in the works for more than two years and involved no financial transaction, according to the report.

Bloomington Hospital plans to increase its relationship with the Indiana University School of Medicine, located in Bloomington, now that the merger has been finalized.
