Valley Medical Center in Renton, Wash., may affiliate with Seattle-based UW Medicine — the hospital network of the University of Washington School of Medicine, which owns or operates three hospitals, according to an article in the Renton Reporter.

VMC’s CEO, Rich Roodman, recommended the hospital form a strategic alliance — not pursue a merger — with UW Medicine. His recommendation has received support from community leaders and the majority of the hospital’s Board of Commissioners, according to the report.
