The hospital already had a ban on patient admissions after it violated licensing standards and lacked supplies and equipment, according to the story.
Commonwealth Medical Center is required to secure the building and immediately cover the blue hospital signs on the roadways directing people to the hospital, according to a press release from the Pennsylvania Department of Health.
The hospitals skilled nursing facility on the hospital campus, which operates under a separate license from the hospital, will remain open until the three residents in the skilled nursing unit are discharged or relocated to another facility.
