The average monthly premium was $33.97 in 2011, and so far in 2012, it is $31.54. Enrollment in MA plans went from 11.7 million in 2011 to 12.8 million in 2012, according to the release.
“The Medicare Advantage program is stronger than ever,” said HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius in the release, adding that MA plans will also start receiving incentives in 2012 for achieving high quality performance measures.
