“Some Caremark enrollees complained of being forced to drive up to 130 miles to fill prescriptions,” according to a news release from the state’s commerce department. The department said Caremark required patients to use its pharmacies and mail-order business after their first three prescription fills.
CVS told Becker’s its “clients are lawful and compliant” and it is “pleased to resolve this matter with the Minnesota Department of Commerce.”
A similar case is happening in Oklahoma, where the state’s insurance department recently filed a lawsuit over patient steering and access concerns.
