Dr. Ciesla reportedly hid the bullet inside his rubber glove, telling state law enforcement agents waiting outside the OR that it was still in the suspect’s body, but he was reported by a first-year surgery resident who had assisted in the operation.
The University of South Florida College of Medicine is asking Dr. Ciesla to give a lecture to medical students and residents on the role of physicians in securing medical evidence for law enforcement.
