Joshua Agruss allegedly stole fentanyl, a synthetic opioid, from Central DuPage Hospital on multiple occasions in December 2014 by telling emergency department nurses paramedics needed to restock their supply. At that time, Mr. Arguss was employed as the hospital’s emergency medical services continuing education specialist.
On one occasion, Mr. Arguss allegedly acquired 400 micrograms of fentanyl to resupply a paramedic who had only used 200 micrograms, according to the report.
Mr. Arguss was indicted by a grand jury July 28. He faces 10 counts of unauthorized acquisition of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a controlled substance and burglary, according to the report.
Mr. Arguss turned himself into police Aug. 6. His next court date is scheduled for Sept. 6.
