Dr. Nassar, accused of sexual assault by more than 130 women, admitted guilt Nov. 22 to seven of the counts of sexual misconduct in Ingram County, where Michigan State University is located. In a Nov. 29 plea agreement with the Michigan Attorney General’s Office, Dr. Nassar pled guilty to three additional counts of first-degree sexual conduct, one of which involved a girl under the age of 13. The sentencing hearings for the state crimes are scheduled for January 2018.
In July, Dr. Nassar also pled guilty to three federal child pornography charges that occurred between 2003 and 2016. The sentencing hearing for the pornography charges is scheduled for Dec. 7. According to NPR, he faces up to 20 years in prison for each pornography charge.
