Alexian Brothers Health System, based in Arlington Heights, Ill., and Ascension Health, based in St. Louis, have signed a definitive agreement for ABHS to join the Ascension system, according to a joint news release.
Terms of the agreement are confidential, according to the release. The Catholic systems signed a letter of intent in April, and still plan to earn necessary state and federal approvals by the end of 2011.
The agreement now goes to the Illinois Health Facilities and Services Review Board for review.
