The bill, known as the Health for All Act, seeks to extend Medi-Cal benefits to low-income individuals who would qualify for the benefits but for their immigration status.
Under the bill, approximately 730,000 of California’s 2.3 million undocumented immigrants would gain access to healthcare.
The bill was introduced by Sen. Ricardo Lara (D-Bell Gardens).
