1. One of the lawsuits was filed in 2010, and three of the lawsuits were filed in late 2011. The remainder of the cases were filed in 2012 or after.
2. The federal government intervened in full in six of the cases and partially intervened in one case.
3. Nineteen of the recently unsealed cases involved both state and federal claims.
4. The whistle-blowers in approximately 75 percent of the recently unsealed cases were current or former employees of the defendants.
5. The recently unsealed cases were filed in federal district courts in 15 states.
