Both of the new organizations will help the VA create better oversight on how it’s using AI tools within its research and clinical operations, according to Gil Alterovitz, director of artificial intelligence at the VA.
Mr. Alterovitz also said the initiatives will allow the VA to test the technology before its deployment in any clinical or research program.
The committees, according to Mr. Alterovitz, will also explore the use of generative AI tools like ChatGPT.
