The child can maneuver the robot through the aquarium and view animal exhibits. An aquarium employee guides the robot and answers any questions the patient might have.
The program was piloted at Charleston, S.C.-based MUSC Children’s Health. Prisma and the South Carolina Aquarium are completing trial runs of the program this week and expect to have patients using the robots soon.
