The new funds will enable the Northwestern University Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (NUCATS) to continue its work in enlisting diverse participant groups for clinical studies, accelerating medical discoveries and using those discoveries to develop new therapies. NUCATS will also contribute to digital research infrastructures, such as the Feinberg School of Medicine’s Center for Data Science and Informatics.
NUCATS launched in 2007 and has since grown to encompass 10 centers and programs. The institute supports and advances the research of seven of the university’s schools and institutes, as well as clinical partners Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.
