MECIS’ simulation technology includes life-size mannequins that work with virtual reality technology to mimic clinical events in a way that is not possible with standardized patients or other training tools. The simulation technology uses computer programming that replicates real-life situations, which helps train medical teams how to manage critical scenarios, oversee skill decay, develop new procedures and improve team communication. MECIS uses the simulations with the goal of reducing medical errors and promoting patient safety.
The innovation center provides additional simulation programs for departments including otorhinology, obstetrics and gynecology and radiology.
