Google Cloud launches AI-powered precision medicine and drug discovery tools

Google Cloud launched the Target and Lead Identification Suite and the Multiomics Suite, two artificial intelligence-powered tools designed to accelerate drug discovery.

The Target and Lead Identification Suite works to help researchers predict protein structure and identify the amino acid function. The Multiomics Suite aims to help companies developing precision medicine tools interpret genomic data, according to a May 16 Google Cloud news release.

Pfizer and Cerevel are using the Target and Lead Identification Suite.

"We've long been involved with creating new tools for understanding and working with the code of life, like high-performance computing for genomic analytics and artificial intelligence that can predict three-dimensional models of proteins," Shweta Maniar, global director of life sciences strategy and solutions at Google Cloud, said in the release. "These new solutions launching today can transform life sciences organizations by accelerating drug discovery and bringing therapeutics to market faster."
