GE HealthCare CEO to lead medtech industry group

GE HealthCare CEO Peter Arduini was tapped to lead the board of directors of AdvaMed, a medical technology trade group.

Mr. Arduinihas been serving as chair of the board in an interim capacity since the previous leader, Ashley McEvoy, left her role at Johnson & Johnson Medtech in October. The board elected Mr. Arduini unanimously, according to a Dec. 11 AdvaMed news release provided to Becker's.

In early 2024, Mr. Arduini will showcase his priorities for AdvaMed.

"The medical technology industry is at the forefront of defining the future of healthcare through smart devices, diagnostics and digital solutions that can enable earlier and more precise diagnoses, targeted treatments and improved patient outcomes," Mr. Arduini said. "We need policies that keep pace with innovation, while fostering the highest ethical standards that improve patient access to the best care possible. With the promise of artificial intelligence and the interconnectivity of medical technologies, there has never been a more important time in our history to make profound and lasting changes in the delivery of care for patients."
