San Francisco-based Bunkerhill Health raised $55 million in Series B funding July 16 to expand its Carebricks agentic AI platform — bringing total funding to $55 million across its seed, Series A and Series B rounds, according to a news release shared with Becker’s. Khosla Ventures led the round, with participation from Sequoia Capital, Felicis, Optum Ventures and Y Combinator.
Carebricks allows health systems to build and deploy AI agents across clinical, operational, and administrative workflows without relying on vendor-built tools, the release said. Current partners include Cleveland Clinic, Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Health, and the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.
UTMB has more than 20 agents running on the platform. In its first month, a coronary calcium detection agent flagged a patient at imminent cardiac risk; he subsequently underwent a triple bypass. A nephrology triage agent cut average specialist wait times by more than 50%. A lung nodule agent resolved urgent incidental CT findings 80% faster and doubled guideline-concordant follow-up care, according to the release.
“We believe AI agents can help them turn more of those ideas into reality,” said Nishith Khandwala, co-founder and CEO of Bunkerhill Health. Peter McCaffrey, MD, chief AI officer at UTMB, credited the platform with delivering “tremendous impact on patient care” across clinical, operational, and administrative functions.
