Yale opens Center for Infectious Diseases

Yale New Haven (Conn.) Health is consolidating infectious disease care under one roof through a new center, which opened Nov. 27, the New Haven Register reported.

The Yale Center for Infectious Diseases in New Haven unites services previously offered at the system's Haelen Infectious Disease Center and Nathan Smith Clinic. Services include comprehensive general infectious disease consultations, transplant infectious disease care, and HIV primary care and prevention. The center also houses Yale New Haven's long COVID program.

The nearly 10,000-square-foot facility features 12 exam rooms, four consultation rooms and several work pods for clinicians, along with a conference room and administrative offices. To increase patient access, the center offers free parking and is located near public transportation lines.

Leaders said they expect to see more than 25,000 infectious disease visits a year at the center.
