CDC updates ventilation guidance for respiratory viruses

The CDC acknowledged ventilation as a core strategy to prevent the spread of respiratory illnesses in a March 22 guidance update.

“It is important to use ventilation as one part of a multi-layered approach to protect ourselves against getting sick from respiratory viruses,” the agency said.

Efforts to improve ventilation should also be considered year-round, not just during respiratory virus season, according to the CDC.
