Hospitals and unions: 5 recent conflicts, agreements

Becker’s Hospital Review reported the following hospital-union events after May 10.

1. Nurses at Twin Cities hospitals in Minnesota will hold informational pickets May 22, 23 and 29 amid contract negotiations.

2. Healthcare workers will rally through June 12 at 33 California hospitals owned by Kaiser Permanente in support of issues they care about.

3. University of California workers went on strike May 16 at the school’s 10 campuses and five medical centers to protest job outsourcing.

4. A California labor board said a unit of the Service Employees International Union may represent fellows and residents at Sacramento, Calif.-based UC Davis Health in bargaining.

5. Nurses at Barton Memorial Hospital in South Lake Tahoe, Calif., scheduled a one-day strike for May 24 amid contract negotiations.
