Ambulatory healthcare services showed most of the employment growth in the industry last month, adding 25,300 jobs. Within ambulatory healthcare services, physician offices contributed 6,800 jobs and outpatient care centers contributed 4,200 jobs. Hospitals added 2,200 jobs last month, down from the 2,800 jobs they added in October.
So far in 2017, healthcare added an average of 24,000 jobs per month, according to the BLS. November’s additions are above that average but below the average increase of 32,000 per month healthcare saw in 2016.
Overall, U.S. employment rose by 228,000 in November, according to the BLS.
