Survey: 88% of Employers Plan to Continue Health Coverage

A recent survey by Towers Watson found that 88 percent of employers plan to offer healthcare benefits to their active employees “for the foreseeable future.”

In 2011, only 71 percent of employers affirmed plans to continue health coverage.

The survey of 440 midsize to large employers suggests that companies plan to continue healthcare coverage despite the implementation of health insurance exchanges in 2014.

The 2013 projected cost for health coverage per employee is $11,507, up 5.3 percent from 2012.
