A strike planned for Dec. 4 at Regional Hospital of Scranton (Pa.) has been cancelled after hospital and union officials reached a contract agreement, according to a report by The Times-Tribune.

As many members of AFSCME go on strike Wednesday at University of California medical centers, a court order issued Tuesday barred workers who perform "essential functions in patient health and safety" from participating in the strike.
