Workers at McKenzie-Willamette Medical Center in Springfield, Ore., plan to strike for a second time starting in December, according to the union that represents them.

Amid contract negotiations, the union representing about 2,200 workers at Lansing, Mich.-based Sparrow Hospital is alleging the hospital has repeatedly violated federal labor law.

Watertown, N.Y.-based Samaritan Health reached an agreement with the New York State Nurses Association to raise wages for its unionized registered nurses by 14 percent, the health system announced Nov. 23.

At the beginning of 2022, Ocean Springs, Miss.-based Singing River Health System plans to offer a "pay on demand" option for nurses to receive their paychecks, Jessica Lewis, the health system's executive director of human resources, told the Sun Herald.

A group of UPMC hospital workers in Pittsburgh walked off the job Nov. 18 over demands for fair pay, safer staffing, better working conditions, and unionization rights, according to a news release from organizers.
