The union claims patients are receiving “insufficient care” due to the hospital being short-staffed and asks the Department of Health to conduct an investigation, according to the report. Union representatives also sent a letter about the staffing issues to CMS.

A hospital spokesman told The Santa Fe New Mexican that Christus St. Vincent welcomes “any reviews from state or national agencies to ensure we are always compliant at all levels of patient care.” The spokesman also said the hospital has not seen any trends of insufficient patient care that the complaints indicated.
