The engineers, represented by the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 39, revealed strike plans in January. They walked off the job Feb. 1 and returned to work March 23, after reaching an agreement with Marin General, according to the report.

The union did not give the Journal details about the deal, and the hospital only said it was pleased that it has reached an agreement with the engineers.

The imaging technicians, represented by the National Union of Healthcare Workers, also revealed strike plans in January. They walked off the job Feb. 1 and returned to work Feb. 2. On March 21, they signed a new agreement with Marin General, according to the report, which cites information from the union.

Employee health plan coverage was a key issue for both groups.

The hospital proposed insurance changes that included  charging employees a percentage of the cost for PPO health plans and offering HMO plans for free, according to the Journal.

The imaging technicians reportedly agreed to the changes because the hospital offered a 16.5 percent pay boost for employees over five years.
