If the two systems enter into a partnership agreement, Milford Hospital would remain independent, as the agreement would not be a merger or acquisition, according to the report.
This partnership would add to the list of hospitals recently joining forces in Connecticut. Earlier this year, Norwalk (Conn.) Health Services Corp. joined Danbury Hospital and New Milford Hospital as part of Western Connecticut Health Network.
