Under the terms of the agreement, the organizations launched the services Jan. 19, which included two-way audio and video access, constant patient monitoring and collaborative contact across care teams to patients in each of the 48 ICU beds equipped with telemedicine capabilities. Officials said an additional seven beds will be equipped with telemedicine capabilities at a later date. Advanced ICU Care will provide 24/7 support to the medical center’s clinical staff and care teams.
“The WMC team has been fantastic in the collaboration necessary to launch tele-ICU services,” said Rachel Sackrowitz, MD, national medical director of Advanced ICU Care. “A launch of this magnitude involves a wide range of people. They have all shown tremendous dedication to our partnership on behalf of their patients.”
