Virginia’s Valley Health Systems to Buy Hospital in West Virginia, Build Replacement

The commissioners of Morgan County, W.Va., have agreed to sell 99-bed Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs, W. Va., to five-hospital Valley Health Systems in Winchester, Va., for $2.75 million, according to a report by WJZ News.

As part of the deal, Valley Health will build a $30 million replacement hospital, breaking ground on June 4 and opening the new hospital in April 2012.
