The Virginia Attorney General’s Office and the Federal Trade Commission have both approved the merger, according to the report.
The two groups signed a letter of intent to merge in June.
As part of the merger, Sentara will invest $92 million in a foundation to “bolster the infrastructure of the hospital” and address the health needs of residents in the Woodbridge area, according to the report.
