University of Michigan patients will be able to have their blood pressure checked and assessed by their local Meijer pharmacy technician. If a patient’s blood pressure is elevated, the pharmacist will be able to communicate directly with the patient’s health provider, according to a press release issued by UMHS. Pharmacists will record patients’ visits to Meijer clinics in their EHR so their providers will have access to the information during their next medical visit.
Patients will also be eligible to receive appropriate follow up education about preventative measures, medications and lifestyle alternatives.
The two participating Meijer pharmacies are located at 3825 Carpenter Road and 3145 Ann Arbor-Saline Road.
