The merger has been developing since March when Englewood, Colo.-based Catholic Health Initiatives, St. Joseph’s parent company, announced it would negotiate exclusively with University of Maryland. The original timeline of the deal set the acquisition to close at the end of August, but the date was pushed back to Oct. 1 and now Nov. 1, according to the report.
