A task force has recommended University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora as the best fit to operate Colorado Springs, Colo.-based Memorial Health System, according to a Denver Business Journal report.

Under the proposed arrangement, UCH would lease and operate Memorial’s facilities as the southern hub of a new non-profit health system between UCH and Poudre Valley Health System, based in Fort Collins, Colo.

A task force overseeing city-owned Memorial’s affiliation said UCH has the same missions and values, offers high-quality care and includes access to a medical school. The Colorado Springs City Council is expected to consider the task force’s recommendation in the next few weeks.
