University of Colorado Health is a new health system resulting from an agreement between Fort Collins, Colo.-based Poudre Valley Health System and Aurora-based University of Colorado Hospital to lease Memorial Health System. The city approved PVHS and UCH’s bid in January.
The approved bid included a $74 million upfront lease, $5.6 million in payments for 40 years in general and a capital contribution commitment of $28 million per year for 30 years. The agreement would also fund a new branch of the University of Colorado Medical School at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs campus, an expenditure of $3 million annually for 40 years, according to the report.
