University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina Acquires Pungo District Hospital

Greenville, N.C.-based University Health Systems of Eastern Carolina has acquired Pungo District Hospital in Belhaven, N.C., according to a WCTI report.

Under the agreement, UHS of Eastern Carolina will acquire PDH’s long-term debt and invest $2.5 million for capital improvements and health information technology upgrades, according to the report.

Ownership of PDH shifted to UHS of Eastern Carolina on Oct. 1.
