Through the TeleBurn program, CVMC providers treating patients with burn injuries will have the opportunity to connect with University of Utah Health health officials via video conferencing to discuss the patient’s condition and determine the best care.
The program will not result in the change of ownership, local control or governance of either institution, according to the report.
The financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
“We know patients and their family members don’t want to travel while dealing with healthcare crises. Because of this agreement, the people of CVMC don’t have to travel to receive care,” said Gordon Crabtree, interim CEO of University of Utah Health.
