Dallas-based Methodist Health System has purchased the hospital facilities currently owned by Richardson Hospital Authority, according to a system news release.
Effective Oct. 1, Methodist Richardson Medical Center will officially be part of Methodist Health System. The hospital has two campuses and includes 715 physicians in more than 35 specialties.
The hospital had been operated by Methodist through its affiliate, MHSR Medical Center, under the terms of a lease that contained a provision to convert the lease into an acquisition transaction.
“The past two years of performance at Methodist Richardson have been very good and I believe our two organizations will accomplish substantial synergy by working together,” Methodist CEO Stephen L. Mansfield said in the release.
