The Center for Device Innovation at Texas Medical Center represents a collaboration between Johnson & Johnson Medical Device Companies, Johnson & Johnson Innovation and TMC.
The goal of the center is to “develop breakthrough medical devices designed to make surgery less invasive,” as well as innovate techniques to provide and conduct complex procedures for underserved populations worldwide.
William E. Cohn, MD, vice president of Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices Companies, will lead the center.
“For the last 20 years, most of the innovation I’ve done has been in my garage shop. I hope the CDI can be what my garage always aspired to be — a place where a lot of bright, hardworking, passionate people can let their ideas flow,” Dr. Cohn said.
