To prepare for the transition, Benefis personnel have been working on becoming acquainted with the TMC facility, meeting with employees and providing some pre-sale help, TMC Administrator Louie King told the Choteau Acantha.

Also, Mr. King told the publication, the hospital is trying to collect as many of its receivables as possible before the end of April.

The Teton County Hospital District approved the sale last month.

Under the sale contract, Benefis has agreed to provide inpatient and outpatient critical access hospital services in Choteau for at least seven years, and to provide “other essential services,” such as emergency room services, physical therapy, occupational therapy, laboratory, X-ray, clinic, and long-term care, for at least 15 years, according to the Choteau Acantha. The report notes that the provision to provide these services is based on various conditions.
