The exclusive talks began Dec. 20 after a formal process of investigating potential affiliations was completed. News of Audrain Medical Center’s interest in an affiliation was announced in October 2012. The medical center received responses from eight healthcare systems.
According to the release, Audrain Medical is looking to find ways to improve the care it provides to the community through an affiliation. The talks with SSM Health Care are still preliminary, and an agreement could be finalized by the spring or summer of 2013, according to the release.
