SSMC officials are filing a proposal with the state to affiliate with Boston Children’s Hospital.
SSMC’s sister hospital, South Shore Hospital, is affiliated with Boston Children’s.
The proposed deal would allow SSMC patients to be treated at Boston Children’s, and would also offer discounts to patients referred to South Shore Medical Center by Boston Children’s, according to the article.
The deal has yet to be approved by the state’s health policy commission.
