South Dakota Health Network Plans to Acquire and Reconstruct Minnesota Hospital

Sanford Health, an integrated health system based in Sioux Falls, S.D., is proposing to acquire 21-bed Sanford Hospital Jackson in Jackson, Minn., from the city in return for extensive remodeling of the hospital, the health system reports.

Sanford Health, which currently leases the facility from the city, said that the deal still requires final approval by the Jackson City Council but discussions with the city have already been completed.

The construction would include renovations of surgery, admissions, radiology and imaging, the ER and outpatient and inpatient rooms, as well as building a new laboratory.
